More musings on the Las Vegas shooting...

I am almost certain at this point that the lack of an obvious motive by the shooter is going to be used by the Left to further demonize gun owners.  My gut tells me that we can expect to see the media and the hacks this country has elected to Congress begin using the lack of clear motive as a speaking point whereby they make their case that background checks don't work and that the only answer to the problem of evil people using tools to do evil deeds is to remove the tools from circulation entirely.

In other words, they are going to declare that the lack of motive is the most disturbing point of all and is the reason why no one should ever have a gun or a gun of a certain type.  They will say that it is proof that none of us can be trusted, despite the fact that this crime was committed by just one of some 7.7 Million estimated gun owners in the United States.  The absurdity of painting with such a wide brush will, of course, be dismissed willfully by a public seemingly incapable of thinking for itself.

Please don't take this as a personal jab at you.  But, I do not understand the incredulity that everyone seems to be showing toward the fact that this guy lugged that much gear into the hotel by himself and that no one took notice of it.

Seeing someone wheeling big luggage or containers into a hotel and to their room in Vegas is commonplace.  There are so many concerts, conferences, trade shows and other performances in that town that you'd never be given a second thought even if you wheeled in something the size of an elephant.  And as for how he got it to his room, he'd draw far less attention just by using the elevator and accepting help from the porters than he would if someone witnessed him lugging containers 32-flights up the stairs.

Cleaning crews aren't going to pay a moment's notice to big containers or luggage in hotel rooms either.  They generally don't WANT to know what you've got as it not knowing gives them plausible deniability.  It's not called Sin City for nothing!

And just because we haven't seen video footage of him carting this stuff through the hotel lobby and up the elevator, it doesn't mean the footage doesn't exist.  You can't fart in Las Vegas without being on a camera.  The only thing they have more of in Vegas than cameras is slot machines.  Maybe!  So that video exists, trust me.

Ok so that answers that and thanks guys. I ain't never been to Sin City and have no plans on going ever...............

Just look at how many gun owners want Federal reciprocity. They want the government telling us where and how we can carry.

Not me. I want nothing to do with it. There is no putting the Genie back in the bottle on that. I adamantly defend States Rights.

A lot of what I've heard does seem to be headed this way. I don't watch cable news but I haven't heard the first thing about high capacity magazines. Which I find odd.

Ok I know this is not about the Bump stocks but I keep hearing on the news about how he got all that stuff up to the room. Is it not possible that because all huge casino's offer Bell Hops and customer service people to assist most high rollers with comp rooms to get all their bags to their rooms on the elevators without knowing what is in the bags they are taking to the room? Would that not explain the help he had getting all the stuff to his room?..............Just a question?

You load it on a baggage cart, roll it in the elevator, up to the room, unload it. Rinse and repeat. Employees would offer to help you, and no one gives it a second thought.

You wouldn't believe some of the crap people take with them on vacation. Some people even live in hotel suites.

By the time whatever bill is introduced, committeed, and agreed upon it might be a federal crime to have a shrubbery in your front yard.

Honestly I'm surprised it has made it this long with all of those videos of people using hundreds of pounds of it to blow up stuff on youtube.  That's on a whole different level than guns.

I’ve thought the same thing. Although I’ve probably been guilty of blowing up some ####...maybe...or at least I knew a guy who did [emoji16]

And as far as getting it to the rooms, if he broke down the ARs, he could put 10-15 in one large roller bag. Since he didn’t fly with them, they could have weighed 75 lbs each and he just simply roll them to the room. And 5.56 and .308 ammo isn’t that heavy. He probably had the mags loaded and all stacked in suitcases. Most of us have taken a few thousand rounds to the range on any given afternoon.
The media does not really care to or will ever understand us ‘gun nuts’, like I’ll probably never really get obsessed over golf or tennis. Acquiring an arsenal of 35 guns in a year is a slow year for some of my collector colleagues....at least that’s what I’ve heard [emoji6]

This story is only temporary as the Liberal Media has yet again set the bar for the next copycat. Their are waiting on the next one to break 59 dead,we got to see the update

from Orlando everyday and now a new record and play it out all day long. They like to see bombs in Ryder trucks and jets crashing into buildings but nothing excites them as

much as demonizing firearms and there owners.

This video came to my attention yesterday and I think it's pretty much spot-on. It doesn't matter if you think bump-fire stocks are stupid or if you don't have a need for one. Our freedoms aren't based on NEEDS. Our freedoms are based on RIGHTS. You should have the right to buy ridiculous crap for your guns and waste ammo as inaccurately as you want.

If you're OK with them banning bump-stocks because it's a stupid accessory for a gun that you'd never own, you're demonstrating the exact same logic the Elmer Fudd types use when they say "Who cares about AR-15's or handguns or magazines that hold more than 10 rounds? As long as I have my hunting rifle, I'm good."

It's not about what YOU want or like or would buy or want to shoot. These leftist law-makers aren't really going to be satisfied with that one slice of the pie. There's always another slice until there's no pie left.

As a note, this video is posted via Facebook, so you may need an account there to view it.  I do, so it wasn't a problem for me to watch or paste it here.  Your mileage might vary.

You're right. I hate it when the NRA calls it wrong. I reckon they did this time.

I’m just glad someone is going to check with me to see if I think bumpstocks are okay.

No need to ask you, that's the beauty of it; not having to check with anyone to excercise your rights.  While I'm not much for FA, or anything in the NFA realy, I don't care that others do.
