I use some Tetra gun grease on the barrel nut. Nothing else except normal maintenance lube points. Little dab of Geissele grease on the sear if I think of it.

This is a great chart I haven't seen before.  I'm going to print it as a reminder when I clean.  I assume the Gs mean Grease and the L's mean lightly coat or some such?

G= generous. I don't use grease anywhere on an AR, except for a little dab on the sear. I never lube the buffer spring either

Ah-ha!  That makes more sense.  Thanks!

Awesome.  Thank you.  I'm going to put the three of these together and print them poster-sized on the plotter for the wall in my office.

Cool, functional decor!

Thanks mikegideon. The chart i was looking for. I was reading other blogs and find nothing helpful information about ar guns and scope.

I'd actually grease my M4's BCG carrier rails, not for desert conditions, but for range and jungle conditions.  Not heavy or anything, but definately grease.  Can't recall the name ATM, but it was milspec if I recall correctly.

When I'm in the jungle I carry a shotgun. There's #### in there you just can't kill with a poodle shooter.

Naw, my AR did just fine, though the shotgun would of came in handy for food harvesting.  As it was we dropped a few things for the grill.  I wasn't so much worried about the four (or no) legged danger anyway, it was the two legged variety that we had to worry about.  And there was enough in the group to deal with either.
