Can I get a big "Amen"?

And is anyone looking for a good canidate to run in his pace? Not my district so I am afraid I can't help much there.

Need new blood not just another career criminal to take his place and continue the same old same old.

Watch out... here comes mr conservative himself... Bill Haslam... he will make Attila the hun look like a pansy until he is sworn in. Then the only fight he will ever fight in the Senate is to try to sit next to John McCain...

we're going to get clobbered by our open primaries. The democrats will trot out a couple of candidates, but not expecting a win in the general, so their plan will be voting in the republican primary for the best democrat there.

Don't be too excited about Corker retiring. He has said from the beginning that he really wanted to be Governor, and never really wanted to be a Senator. Speculation is that he and Haslam will switch seats.

They will stump for each other, both have name recognition, and lots of donors, so if this turns out to be the plan, it'll be hard to keep either out of office.

You beat me to it.  I clicked this thread expecting to post the potential swap scenario.

It's a sobering thought.

We can only hope that the people of Tennessee have been closely watching the actions of both of these twats and don't elect either one of them to Dog Catcher in 2018. They proved that the people make the decisions in Alabama and didn't put McConnells puppet in office so the people in Tennesse do have the final say and lets hope we stand strong like Alabama did...........JMHO

Might as well get us some Democrats. I'm ready for gun prices and the cost of free healthcare to go thru the roof again.

Alabama has re-worked the primary voting rules to help prevent democrats from doing too much damage, and that helped lead to Moore's win. Probably not perfect, but certainly better than what we have, which is nothing. When we were choosing a republican candidate for governor Haslem was one among the many. All were more conservative than he was. The Tennessean came out endorsing him, or basically telegraphing to all the democrats, vote Haslem. And this is what we got. Here's a pretty good article on the Alabama method, and a good explanation of what's wrong with open primarys.
