He asked that I cut the front down a bit and add a stiffener plate. I'm glad he asked, because I like it a lot better now, and it is quit a bit more functional. IMG_0225.thumb.JPG.d01a7ae4bf093345175c90e0eb5114f2.JPG

WOW , do you sew and stitch leather ?

I do. I don't have a machine, so it's all done by hand.

Thank ya. I don't know if I'll want to try that distressed look again. Took a long time of working, I guess really overworking that leather. Not sure how good for it that was. You probably noticed that I cut it long. That's probably not the "right" way to do it. I like to gear stuff toward outdoor use. I leave an open bottom, but I'm always thinking about sitting down in the woods, and I like to keep the barrel from having a chance of coming into contact with anything.

Looks great. I always wanted to try leather but I have so many other hobbies.

You should give it a whirl. It's the one hobby (aside from poker) that pays for it's self.

True.  'Cept when you're a beginner like me. Then sometimes it makes you pay dearly. ;)

I've tried both when I was young, but wouldn't have the patience for either now.
