Picked up one on their LEO/Military program.

Fired a few hundred rounds thru it today, worked perfectly.

Trigger takes a little bit o get use to.

I think it was a good deal for less than $300.

The hard trigger pull will help you in the long run.  Learn to shoot well with it and the carry-over to a nice trigger will be evident.

Picked one up awhile back and think it's a great value.seems like a glock clone and besides the trigger sucking the price of mags are steep.

But if you don't want a pile of mags, I think it's a fantastic piece.

I did have an issue with some federal redbox I picked up at Wally World. Had 7 out of 100 fail to fully seat in battery.

My LGS said it was budget ammo made for Wally World, I had no idea federal would lower their standards. Used quality ammo after that and no problems.

Cant beat the name Smith and Wesson!

A guy I shoot with has a SD. He had the trigger worked on or changed springs or something and it was a nice revolver like pull. Then he changed it back for some reason.

The SD9 VE was the first gun I purchased, after deciding to get back into shooting.  It has stellar reviews regarding value for price, on the S&W Forum.  And, there is a video of a S&W sponsored shooter using it in IDPA competition.  I had no problem with the trigger, probably because I had just returned to shooting.  It performed very well during the TN Carry Permit test.  Mine has Talon grips, an extended take down pin and I bought (but don't use) a SS 20lb spring.  I have fired about 400 rounds through it, with the only problems being Monarch steel case ammo stoppages (1 or 2 per mag.)

Recently, I purchased an M&P 2.0, so I'll just mention that I will have this in the classifieds soon.

I purchased a Sigma as soon as they hit the marketplace and almost immediately traded it for a Glock 22 and have been soured on S&W pistols since. But the SD 9mm is a solid product and a great value for the dollar, enough so that I'm probably going to buy one specifically to keep inside my truck secured in my disaster bag. I'd meant to do this a while back and forgot about it so thanks for the reminder.
