I topped off my Jeep Friday and then filled five 5 gallon gas cans because i had a $1.00 off a gallon at Krogers and got my 35 gallon limit for $37.45...........................

The real question is how do you get $1 off a gallon of gas? And how often can you get that $1 off?

Anybody seen traffic problems yet?

9:45 am I-40 West in Knoxville is moving slow, bumper to bumper as far as the eye can see.  I'd say it is beginning.

My wife showed me a video of endless cars lined up on the shoulder of the Cherohala Skyway at about 7:00 last night.

Hwy 321 through Townsend was bumper-to-bumper yesterday afternoon.

I shop at Krogers for my groceries and earn points. They also have days that is double points day so when you check out you get double your points and they have days that certain items are triple points that day. On normal points you get 10 cents off for every $100.00 you spend on food and other items. You points add up for the month and you have till the end of the following month to use them of you lose them. July was the month they ran a bunch of bonus buys and triple points days they had 200 points for filling out a survey which I did and the points added up to 1000. I guess I have done it three times in past several years but I average getting between 50 and 70 cents off a gallon every month. All you need is a Kroger card to begin saving points.

It's kind of a religious thing for East Tennessee hillbillies. For about three minutes this afternoon even God stops making shine. Folks here are gathering up their livestock because they think the animals will go crazy when the moon photobombs the sun. Heck, that's been happening for days.....two legged critters are driving hundreds of miles and spending thousands of bucks to see it.   Most Floridians will miss the event, but I understand out of solidarity they will gather respectfully and bow their heads for a few moments in shade.

I hope you manage to make it to a Ground Zero near you. Today's eclipse will also cause a rare political phenomena: For the first time since Trump got elected, even Democrats are going to be looking up.

I'm told 411 south out of murvul is bumper-to-bumper.

I would say poor timing on the part of thousands of folks that thought Tennessee had roads that could handle the kind of traffic this act of GOD is going to create. My Jeep will not be moving today..................

Well my wife rushed back to the hospital where her grandmother is. She had a heart cath this morning and is now not doing well. I guess I will look at it from the hospital lot. I hate for my wife to muss. She was even more excited than the kids.

Sorry to hear that. Hope and prayers to your wifes grandmother.

It's kinda eerie here. As soon as it started the breeze stopped and there isn't any wildlife moving at all. My Bradford pear trees were full of birds and squirrels this morning but as soon as it started, they disappeared.
