Upcoming Germantown auction

Wow is right!

Though.... when I see stuff like this I have to wonder what the family's thought process is.  That's more than enough stuff to make a fine museum collection that could be enjoyed by many for years to come. But now it'll just get scattered to the wind.  It's certainly theirs to do with as they please, but it makes me kinda sad.

Tremendous collection! I know absolutely nothing about these old firearms. But they are gorgeous!

I'd love to own one of the lugers, but I'd guess they will be far beyond what I could afford.

Maybe someday I'll get a shooter grade and be happy with it.

Very good thoughts. I had not considered that yet.  Haven't gotten past the shock of seeing these.

Man, just slap a sign on the house, put out a donation box and go ahead and make it a museum.

I'd pay $10 to go see all that...

Apparently this was a gentleman of exquisite taste.  If anyone does go to the auction you might want to put on your Sunday go-to-meetin' clothes, lol.

I bet the trains are cool as the old guns.

Just imagine being able to put all your stuff out on display to admire anytime you like.

If I put all my stuff out on display my wife would kill me...then sell it. :biglol:

This guy does look like he had as great sense of taste...and lots of money to collect. I doubt I could afford his cheapest gun. Lol

You never know, guys. I've been to a couple of auctions in the last couple of years and left with stuff I never dreamed I'd own for a song.

One thing is for certain. You won't get a bargain if you don't go.

Maybe we could carpool over there and at least get some Central Barbecue with Chucktshoes after it's done.

Man, I wish. I'll be in Springfield, MO that day. Now, if some of y'all do go, pass up Central and go over to the BBQ Shop on Madison. Central is really good, but BBQ Shop is my absolute favorite.

I'd bet that if we played our cards right we could hit Central, the BBQ shop and Germantown Commissary all in one day.

Somebody else is going to have to drive home, though...

Drive home? Who's going to drive the car off the lot.  Hell, for that matter, who's going to walk you to the car?

Like a lot of Classifides here, I am far (8 hours) away from it, so that makes it a whole different ball game. I would love to go, even if it was only to look.

All those guns and not one AR...:D.

Amazing collection.  You can see the love for firearms history this individual had.

Better question. Did you see the gun knife in pic 32?

Pics 148-153 also caught my eye.

BBQ Shop is alright.  But if you don't like mustard based sauces, go elsewhere.  I'm a central fan.

And I think a few of us locals are going to try and hit up the sale.

Having been to several estate sales of higher caliber they usually have a lottery to see who gets in and when. However I didn't see anything mentioned about that here. The entire ad is void of any useful information beyond the preview IMO.

Maybe they ran out of space after showing the gazillion items being sold. Lol
