Okay, I get it. Hardeman Co traffic stop report

I was driving down Hwy 64 on my way to meet a fellow TGOer and was hit by the infamous small-town speed trap just inside of Whiteville where the speed limit drops to 45 for no good reason. It was a County Sheriff this time. The drill was the same as before. I had the window down and both IDs in my hands, both of which were on top of the steering wheel.

"Know how fast you were going?"

"My guess is somewhere around 60, but I'm not certain."

"You armed?"

"Yes, sir."

"You a cop?"

"No, sir."

"Why are you speeding through my county with a gun?"

"The gun is because I live in Memphis. The speeding was not intentional."

... pause while he goes back to his cruiser

"If you want to avoid this going on your record, you'd better make it back up to court here."

"Yes, sir."

"Slow down."

"Yes, sir. You be safe out there."

Call a traffic attorney in that county.I have used them in a few diff. states,they have ranged anywhere from 200 to 500.My tickets have been dropped to no points and I have not had to appear.

So much for the permit and a cooperative attitude helping out when the cops pull you over. The "my county" crap does get old. Congrats for making it through Oakland, though.
