I cant remember the names I was so annoyed at their arrogance.

Good luck with your quest. Personally, I don't ever see you finding a ragged out SP101. That has to be one of the ruggest revolvers every made.

And you are spot on with your opinion of the Ruger Company. I think they've done more to hurt our cause than any other company in the market over the years. They do however make some really good firearms. I love my Mark II bull barrel. But right now I suspect it is the only Ruger I will ever own again... Well maybe a SP101 in .32 H&R Mag. I've always wanted one of those.

Actually, I would be VERY interested in finding out who that is. I make no pretense as to being an expert or anything, but I have done a VERY limited amount of consulting work for Ruger that was right along the lines that this "VP" claims Ruger is not about.

Well, if you were a consultant to help Ruger set up turn key suppressor hosts, you were either a terrible consultant (in that you couldnt get them to agree to product the guns) or Ruger decided to put their head in the sand.

If you are a consultant in this industry, surely you are headed to FL this week.

If so, we can link up and walk over to the Ruger booth and present the same question to them that I presented last week.

Im 101% positve you will get the same attitude and looks as I did.

Bottomline;

Ruger would prefer that their customers not remember that they tried to sell them down the river to line the pockets of Bill Ruger and his crew.

Screw America's gun owners for personal gain. Classy.

I love Ruger's revolvers. Except for this one. That's the most butt fugly thing I've ever seen.

I've never cared for Rugers autos (they're not junk, I just don't like 'em) I have an M77 MkII in .308 I dearly love. It's dang hard to beat a tuned Blackhawk.

I don't work in this industry......I helped do a VERY little consult work in the police and military division that has future inroads in the civilian market. I, like you have particular skills that can be a commidity when it comes to designing weapons for a particular use or segment of the shooting community.

Like I said, what I have seen from Rugerr, is that they are trying extremely hard to get away from some of the Bill Ruger ideas. Look at some of their recent products. They have stumbled along the way, but at least they didn't try to cover it up. Didn't you make a mistake or two going through "q" course or during selection? People, and companies make mistakes, it's what we do with the knowledge that we gained from those mistakes that define who we are as people or as a company.

I knew you weren't. People have their opinions. Ruger has for many years produced a very mediocre product. I agree. I am just saying that they are trying to improve and upgrade their line. They will stumble. They are an american company and need our support. Just give them a chance, and let those hard working AMRICAN workers keep producing good, solid unassuming guns.

You do realize that if this statement had not been made that there would have been a pretty high possibility that the AWBv.1 would have been the AWR instead. I understand your point, but simple polarity with respect to the politial climate against guns at that time was a stupid proposition. The gun lobby would not budge and they lost...big time.

As far as the recalls and 0.01 confidence in Ruger. The very same "defect exists in every pre 80 series 1911 ever made...no recall on any of those AFAIK.

You also forgot the one big one ruger did in the early 70's that is still in effect today. There is not another manufacturer in this capacity that will stand behind their product like this. FYI...Glocks have homogeneous offering totally unlike a full line firearm manufacturer...not apples and oranges in case you were thinking of them.

That is understandable

I'll gander that you could count with one hand the number of members who have ever shot a 45,000+psi 45/70 in a Ruger #3. There are also not many big caliber revolver gurus here (or at least vastly outnumbered). Not many would know how many clicks an unconverted 3 screw makes...much less how to safely load one.

Not slamming the general membership, but Ruger simply hasen't catered too well to the folks here...if all one shoots is semi-auto's and tactical rifles then Ruger's offerings are pretty weak.

I have 4 Ruger Firearms, 2 of which will be the absolute last ones to go. A custom built 45LC Bisley Blackhawk, and an M77MkII .308. Both of which are more accurate, reliable and powerful than my XD's, AR's, and AK's. They maybe low on the firepower and tacticool nonsense, but it only takes one;)

To everything there is a time and place, I love my AR and XD but I for one appreciate where Ruger's quality is.

I only own 1 Ruger a single 6 - .17hmr When I purchased it I purchased a lever action and a bolt action .17 aswell.

The OP was about the LCP.

I carry the S&W Air Light PD. and think this is what Ruger is trying to accomplish.
