Anyone up on it tonight?  Heard my favorite new quote on there:

guy 1 asks "why are you always in a foul mood?" guy 2 responds "experience"

Explains 90% of the people I associate with lol!

I thought the opening episode was a bit sluggish. If not for the scenes with the Hound, I would have thought we were watching last season again.

If the rumors are correct about this being the final season...it's gonna have to ramp up to settle the story lines.

Big fan here, albeit I missed tonight's show by virtue of slow internet. This is not the final season, that's next year, and I agree, at least as far as the books, there are a lot of plotlines to finish ...

I think it will be a good season. Lots of chess pieces to move. The opening scene was very satisfying.

Well, it's sort of the first part of the last season. HBO decided to do two mini-seasons of 7 episodes each to ensure they could get everything in while having enough time for post production, CGI, and what not. Kind of how Mad Men finished it's run, just a lot more logistics behind it.

I'm cautiously optimistic they don't screw this up. The two key players behind the scenes (those guys you see talking about the episode after it) have done a great job to date.

My wife and I finally got tired of being nagged about it and started watching it over the weekend. We're on episode 3 I think.

I'm not sure why we waited so long.

Just 58 more to go before you get caught up for next Sunday.

I do believe we have probably watched the entire series, so far, at least5 times. Anytime there's a marathon catch-up session, my wife will watch it.

I'll sit in for the good parts and read around the rest. It is rather addictive. lol

Now that my internet decided to cooperate and I finally got to watch the first episode of this season, if the first one is indicative of the season as a whole, this might wind up being the best one yet ...

If anyone has the time, the books that the show was created from are fantastic. They've have to make some changes for television adaptation of course, and as of last season, they're officially ahead of the books storylines, but the TV show has kept true to them instead of just paying to have the characters and back stories to play around with.

I am curious how Winds of Winter will detail what we see on TV.

Read the first book in 1997, patiently waited for subsequent editions.

Not disappointed with the series, I actually appreciate how they've morphed characters and story lines without going way off the reservation.

A bigger question is whether G.R.R. Martin will live long enough to finish the series - we might be looking at the definitive version on the TV show, if he doesn't pick up the pace ...

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering...especially with some of the changes that have (or haven't) occurred in the TV series versus the books.

I think we're at a fork in the road story wise with books and TV shows...but it's not an absurdity or anything, so like you I'm happy.

True. I started reading his SF stories back in the 90s. Good stuff, but he definitely wasn't fast in writing and releasing. He does however, write a lot when he gets going. 10 book series is not uncommon for him.

Here's some thrones y'all can use for "got", when you're finished, we'll be out at the range playing game of making holes!

I think he gave up on the books.  He moderated the panel at ComicCon one year.  And the way he perved on the female cast and talked about getting to see them nekkid, I think he is content just to be on set.

Then he should go right into developing the screenplay for "Emilia Clarke Buck Nekkid All the Time"!

Wouldn't hurt my feelings none.  We can add some of them snake girls and Missandei to the cast too!

This weeks episode certainly didn't disappoint.  Probably one of the best for dialogue combined with action I can remember since Season 2's Blackwater.

My wife and I are on season 2 and trying to catch you guys. I've never seen such an amazing mixture of bare breasts and violence until now! :)

The gratuitous nudity brings nothing to the show, it certainly makes Martin look like a perv.

No more violence than the new Mad Max
