It couldn't possibly be worse.

Spoken like a Southern boy who was raised with that foul brew! My grandparent drank Double Cola. At 5/6 that's all that was offerred to me, All they bought. Seems like I must have refused it back then. At least that's what I was told. I know I never would drink it. I remember a sip or two and spitting it out.

That was my maternal grandparents. My Dad's, when they splurged on any kind of soft drinks, bought RC Cola...only marginally better than Double Cola.

Then along came TAB. Another horrid drink.  My Mother just loved them. LOL. So I did drink a few of those.

I soon became a fan of Orange Crush. That was pretty much my choice to pick from until roughly 1964. I discovered Dr Pepper! A wonderous drink!

Soothed the mind and body!

Hey now, be careful with the disparaging remarks about Tab. That was the best of the diet cola. So sad they finally stopped producing it.

When I was a little kid, my Grandpa would buy me a Double Cola or RC cola, occasionally. Glad to get it & I survived .

Cost a nickel.

Let's not forget the wonders of Fresca.  As I recall, the Fresca commercials had the best looking girls.

They used to make Double Cola in my hometown of Chattanooga down on Broad Street.  They came out with the first 16 oz. bottle and it was cheap, but boy was it S W E E T!   I wondered if the "double" in Double Cola was the sugar!

RC was okay.  Loved 7UP in the green bottle.

And the best "Rush, rush for Orange Crush!"  Picture below is an antique Orange Crush bottle I dug up in my yard as a kid in Chattanooga.
