Marlin lever action .357

Well, I am now a proud owner of a Marlin lever action in .357! I will wait until I shoot it tomorrow before I do the Snoopy happy dance! I hope it shoots with a great degree of accuracy.

I got this thru a trade with that Remmy 11-87 I had in the marketplace.

I couldn't get a buyer so I decided to trade it.

After tomorrow I will decide if I want it to be my get me home gun.

I was playing around and discovered that an SKS stripper clip will hold 11 rounds of 38/357!

I have a pistol in the same caliber so I have a very useful combo.

I am thinkin' that I need to see what else I want to trade so I can get one in 45LC,too!

Life is good!

You'll love it!! Just don't try to use 38spc wadcutters in it. You'll get the dreaded doublefeed and a bad jam up. Then you'll have to take the action apart to clear it. (This isn't experience talking here or anything!)

As for accuracy, I got 4-6" at 100 yards open sighted with a couple handloads. Others were more 6-8" groups. I'm not a great shot with a rifle, so I'm guessing you'll probably do much better, especially if you scope it.

I have a williams peep sight on mine. That and a sling is the only things I have ever done to. It is one of my favorite firearms. (Not just because my Dad gave it to me either.:) ) Seems it is one that I can consistently pickup no matter how long it sets and hit with it.

Have fun with it! :D
