Looking where?

http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/tncode/

You want 39-17-13xx section. 39-17-1307 specifically for your question.

Note however that 39-17-1309, 39-17-1313, and 39-17-1359 also apply -- the exception in -1307 is for the offense in that statute only and doing same on school, posted, or employer property requires permit.

Local police officer (went to station in Sevierville and asked) -- car is like your house (OK visible or not and loaded or not). But, you can't take it out of the car (can't carry concealed without carry permit) except like for hunting, a shooting range, or such.

That said, I did not ask about school parking lots or anything else specific.

And, like the rest of this states right bull -- it probably varies in every cotton picking state.

Sometimes. you would think we don't all live in the USA.

States Rights bull? Of course it varies in every state. You want the Feds making the rules on how, where, and what you can carry? You may get your wish; but I bet there is a very good possibility you won’t be happy with it.
