I have a buddy in the mid-state area that is interested in picking up a new Taurus Judge. Has anybody seen one locally that he can get his hands on quickly.

The box of truth give a run down contradictory to what Taurus does.

I'm blocked at work, but have the link to the face page.

Look up the Taurus Judge and make your own opinion.

I was all hyped up about this revolver until I saw the report on it.

It's a nice novelty gun, but not exactly what Taurus sells it up to be.

Thanks for the help guys. I am aware of the caveats of this unique "novelty" pistol, but it is for a friend who evidently has his mind made up. We found one at On Target in Murfreesboro if anyone is looking.

Thanks Again,

Hunter.

I don't think the article bad-mouths, the judge. It just points out the pros and cons.

We bought one for snake control around the pond, and for fun. It works for the purpose we intended it to.

I think if someone buys the right "tool" for the job, they will have no problems.

I wouldn't use it for a carry gun, because...well as the article points out there are better options out there, but I think as a "truck-gun" it would be ok. At 3 feet 000 buckshot would do more than tickle.

I also agree that there is a right tool for the right job.......The review on the Box of Truth is for the early model judge that accepts 2.5 inch shot shells. Taurus also has a newer version of the judge that will accept a 3 inch shells. In fact, the 3 inch version is what my buddy picked up today at On Target.

The 3 inch version should open up the options on ammo and effective rounds for snakes, vermin, and bad guys. It would be interesting to see a review of the 3 inch version as well.

.410 is NOT a suitable self defense round. Ever.

The Judge is neat though, personally I'd rather have that revolver that chambers like 5-10 different rounds.

Taurus should just increase a few dimensions here and there, and chamber that bad boy for 45/70. Then the discussion of effectiveness on BG's would be over:koolaid:

Or they could call it the JJae model!

Judge

Jury

And

Executioner

:stunned:

Ooo, and call it the JJ for short, get Jimmie Walker for their new spokesman, and it would be "DYNOMITE!"

Then there's that incident a few months back...where Gramps took out the 2 BG's in Antioch...wounded one who sought treatment 30 minutes after the incident...and dropped his partner on the spot in his driveway. That's what happens when you bring a BBGun to a robbery...and its dark outside

I saw a couple of them @ the franklin gun shop last time I was there and they always have them at the gun shows.

I thing They have have one that will fit 3" shells now. I would love to have one as they are fun to shoot. (being an RSO at a local range has nice fringe benefits such as shooting other peoples guns:D)

Correct Taurus tweeked the frame and stretched the cylinder to accomodate 3" magnum loads...at least thats what the ad on the back of my latest issue of American Rifleman says
