Gun show in Athens

Got back around 4 back to Chatt.

Nice crowd, very few vendors with any parts, absolutely no ammo worth mentioning. Few ARs available but no top tiers. Lot of knives and the everpresent taser stall.

Bought myself some 45 ACP rounds and a UTG grip for the AR.

No, Magpul mags were unavailable. B)

Not a bad show. I wasn't the first in the door but, I was close. Small show but far more personal than that big show in K Town would have been. Some ARs, saw one RRA, a couple of over priced SKSs, HK91 mags for $20!!!:screwy:They must have been made of gold. Would have liked to pick up some ammo, just a few boxes there. Did see a first for me in southern gunshows, the Klan had a table. Not so sure I liked seeing that.

I didn't notice the klan, perhaps my buddy Big O ran them off, he was the very tanned gentleman whose tables were along the front wall. ;)

I don't know if a bunch of vendors left, or what, but when I got there, of the 5 aisles, only 2 were filled with vendors, the remaining 3 were spotty, the last 2 mostly empty.

Didn't find anything, but it was a good start for a show in Athens given that there were other shows not far away. I bet it would have been packed to the gills with both vendors and attendees had there been no conflicting shows. Hope that is the case for the next one.

He was sitting on the far side wall right in the middle, just under the big eagle and flag painted on the wall. Only had 3 guns sitting on his table but, he had their weight in propaganda sitting there.

And yeah, Big O is a big boy. He might have scared that idiot off.;)

Wish I could have been there. As usual, I have to work both Saturday and Sunday. I'm off next weekend -- any gun shows scheduled?

I've been to a lot of show's in Tenn and Ga. But that's the first time I have ever been to one that had a "Klan" table. {Kinda of odd that he set up as near to the black feller as he could.} IMHO is that there is already enough crazys out there trying to get rid of guns, that things like this just and fuel to the fire.

Most interesting gun seen, IAI .30 carbine SS pistol. Don't know how much the guy was asking but, would have been nice to pick up.

Been a looooonnnnggg time since i have been to a gun show. The last was when i got back from Saudi in Georgia. I don't remember if i paid in to see the things they had there or not. But i knew i wasn't going to buy anything, just look. But there ain't no way i was paying 5.00 to do that. Call me a cheapskate or whatever, i'm not paying to go to a gunshow, guess that will be the last of them i'll ever go to because i'm sure you have to pay a admittance fee to get in one. My niece's husband went in to look around said there was one fella there with a sawed-off shotgun, old used, wanted $800 dollars for it. Another had a used ar he was selling for $1300? What's up with this? These people were acting like they had the best bargains around. The AR for $1300 dollars, my niece's husband asked one of the owners of All American Gun Shop (who happened to be near by) what he would sell the same kind to him for, around $800. With prices like that, i guess i don't need to go to no gun show no more.

Well Marine, Thanks for your service. Gun shows around here are all the same, mostly high priced stuff that the sellers are hoping to find an unsuspecting buyer for. I went, you didn't miss anything. But if I had met you there I would have bought your ticket in just as a thanks for your service.

God bless you.
