I am calling it here first 2 days before the release. Ruger's new gun will be called the LCR and will be a composite, 5 shot .38 revolver. I have actually seen the pre-release pictures. It is pretty sweet.

If they price it right it will sell like hotcakes.

Woohoo!

What does "composite" mean in this case?

Like "alloy", "rugerium" ?

How about a pre release copy & paste? ;)

What will make it more popular than the other small revolvers?

Where did you see the pics and CAN WE SEE THEM!?

also, I heard rumors about a 9mm lcp

Nope...composite as in Glock. I would post the pictures I have, but I would hate for a C&D from Ruger. Would not make Tungsten's day.

I will say this...it will really eat into the market that the 442 has been sitting on for a while now.

It is 100% confirmed. All you folks have to do is wait now.

Maybe its just me but I don't see the advantage in a composite revolver. If you want lightweight, they make titanium and scandium revolvers, beyond that I think it would punish your hand a little too much to be much fun to shoot.

A tupperware revolver? ;)

And how much composite are we talking about? Like a steel (metal) cylinder and barrel and working bits, then composite frame? Sleeved cylinders even? I dunno. Sounds funky. Guess we will have to wait for pics.

Sounds like a Ruger flop ala the Hawkeye,308 Mini 14,and the .357 Maximum.Ruger has a pattern of introducing some duds and they are long overdue for another.

Not unless you consider a 442 S&W a flop. Trust me on this one guys...if the price is right it will do really, really well.

The 442 isn't tupperware.

So is that what the countdown clock on the Ruger site is all about? (currently showing 1 day, 15:09:xx to go)

Anyone else notice that Smith has chambered a gun in .327 federal? Kind of a little jab, I guess.

Now that Ive seen pics if this really hits the shelves & is priced right it will be LCR mania just like the LCP. Hope they dont have to issue a recall on it like the last few roll outs.

I hope they just make more than 50 of them! Be a little easier than finding a .327 or LCP hopefully.
