I'm trying to figure out how to write monthly "how to" articles, but I think I may have to put them on my personal website. Like one month do one project, next month another ect., ect..

Start with tanning.

I'm almost done with my latest tanning project, I learn something new every time I do one.

You can see the holes from the complete pass-thru on it.

I think this one will be softer than my last.

I used the K7111 Tanning kit from Van Dykes

I'd like to see a coyote done, I want to do one this year and I'm sure there are some good tricks that would help.

It seems Coyote hunting is going hot and heavy right now, so I will start writing about that. Will let everyone know when it's posted.

That deer hide looks really good! You trimmed it out nice....good looking hide my friend!

Thanks, means a lot coming from someone with your experience.

I took my time skinning her but I need to pickup a hand fleshing tool.

I've been using a knife to do it but it's easy to cut the hide if your not careful.

Wow, that one way to get the hide off, never thought of that one.

Thanks for the compliment on the hide 101

With Squirrel and Deer seasons right around the corner, it's time to revisit the tanning instructions, and ordering supplies. Get set now!

I plan on buying me a good starter kit. I plan on tanning some coyotes. Once I kill a few deer and fill the freezer I will be hard at it predator hunting. I plan on putting a video together of my hunts. Not sure how it will turn out but im giving it a shot.

I would love to see a hunting video put together by a member!

Why not star in one? If you have a camera I'll film you demonstrating a how to from shot to whenever you feel like stopping.

Have some Antlers that I need to finish so I can mount them. I know WD-40 had mentioned that you can stain them (sine mine are stone white). What I need to know if what Brand and color stain is the most natural looking. I can go and take a look and figure it out, but would like to know what the experts use.

If the antlers are real "porous" you may want to seal them first. If not, light walnut works real well for them. If you have any further questions, let me know, and I will help you along your way.
