No, this is not a 5 gauge shotgun.  This is a China Lake Grenade Launcher from the Vietnam era.  Think single shot shotgun moving to a pump shotgun.

Yea my Dad managed to bring back a silver plated Luger (with holster), two Mauser 98s, a bunch of misc bayonets and some Nazi flags and such. Unfortunately he sold the Luger (probably needed the cash for the family), the flags and such disappeared over the years not sure where, the bayonets were not stored very well and I sold them when we were cleaning his shop out. I had the two Mausers but one he had tried to sporterize and never finished and was a real Frankenstein. The other Mauser had all matching numbers but was very worn. I ended up trading the two Mausers and a couple of other long guns he had that needed repairs for a new over and under 12g. I hadn't seen the Mausers for many decades and in my head I remembered two M1s so I was a bit disappointed (those I would have kept), but I do like my O/U. I know where the Luger is and the owner says it is not for sale, probably would not pay what it is worth anyway, he is pushing 90 so I may try again.
