That's one big bug. I did try my hand at carpenter bee skeet last summer with my Governor and #8 .410 birdshot load but I would have to up my game if they were that big.

Anyone know what this rifle is?

That’s not a rifle, it’s a light machine gun.

Perhaps a Bren MK II or similar.

Yes a Bren

Nope, the sights are offset to the left hand side.

Interesting tidbit (when I was in the army cadets, we shot the old Bren fairly regularly.....) but the Bren shoots in a very consistent, vertical oval pattern. If you aim dead centre mass on a human sized target at 200yds, you'll completely outline it with 30 rounds! Also they have a cool tendency to pull forward under recoil.

Also, if you don't lock the barrel correctly after replacement/cleaning the first round will send it cartwheeling about 80 yards downrange

And he'll halt fire across all ranges, then make you go get it whilst EVERYONE watches.

Is that not the famous "Hitler's buzzsaw" MG42? 1200 RPM as to our 450 to 600 for the M1919 or the Bren.

That's what it looks like to me.

Sounds suspiciously like the voice of experience.... :)

I'm honestly amazed that the Mg42 isn't still in use. To this day, it's still one of the finest LSWs ever made.

Can you imagine a scaled down version in 5.56??? Damn but that'd be a hell of a thing.
