Trouble with a Smith & Wesson Model 28.

Highway Patrol never thought about it but Broderick Crawford was in plain clothes, guess not the same thing as State Trooper.

Crawford played the part of Chief Dan Matthews. He was the boss, so he wore plain clothes. So did some of the detectives and Sergeants. The regular Patrol officers in the show wore State Trooper uniforms.
