Wonder what the story behind this picture is. The file name implies it is a 1959 AP photo.

The street sign says "Italia".

Why would there be a “italia” sign in Cuba?  🤔

Ol Duke never had a weapon like that, much less in any movie. Yes, it is a real rifle out fitted correct.

Sorry about that, didn't occur to me to check to see if it what photoshopped, makes an interesting photo. Wasn't till I posted that I thought, that is Rooster Cogburn, I should have known that the rifle was all wrong.

Legendary Texas Ranger Frank Hamer. The man who hunted down and killed Bonnie and Clyde. And that was just one small chapter in his amazing career.

I recommend the book "Texas Ranger" by John Boessenecker to learn more about this incredible law man.

Black Barrel Media has an awesome podcast about him, along with a lot of other old west legends.

Wonder what the story is behind this one. Maybe a shooting range in the back of the beauty salon, they ball look like they have towels wrapped around their hair.

Makeshift hearing protectors?

My guess the towels are for keeping their hair out of the works while building the firearms.

Workers at John Inglis Co in Canada who made Bren guns during WW2.  Hair was rwapped to A) keep it our of machinery, and B) Keep it clean.

Interesting that they posed with the 8mm Bren guns made for China.
