My old gun posts will be hit and miss this week. I'm out of town at a big car show and time and internet are hit and miss.

From the ad text, looks like the MG prohibitions were already in effect.  Even today, police and other non-prohibited purchasers can probably pick up MG's for what most would consider bargain basement prices ...
