Not Grandpa, he was not that old yet in '45. He was just off the Manhattan Project. That MIGHT be Dean, it does look like him.

Jimmy Dean would have been 17 in 1945 and his career didn't take off till he was in his early 20s so it would have been unlikely he was hanging with Lawrence Welk. Does look like him.
