I have just gotten my first .303 Lee Enfield Mk. III SMLE and wanted to know what the differences between the different kinds are.

There's alot of different types of Enfields out there and more than I could cover to explain in a couple paragraphs. The good thing is they are all good rifles and have a really nice smooth quick action compared to some of your other older military surplus rifles. 303 british is not horribly expensive ammo and there is some corrosive surplus out there. Wolf is making brass cased ammo and privi also makes some that can be had for a pretty reasonable cost.

Just stay away from the Pakistani surplus. That stuff is about as safe as playing traffic.
