1CAF7A3F-BB9A-430F-8447-C7FD4DD3F790_zpsI have an 8.5" AR pistol in 300bo. I really like the size and feel. I should be getting my can out of jail for it soon, and that will make it even better. Mine's 300, but it's been 100% reliable so far with about 850-900 rounds.

SLR handguard, Shockwave brace,TGO billet upper and lower

I am going to order a shockwave brace for mine , but have a question about it.I see you can get just the brace and the buffer tube, or get the spring and buffer with the brace and tube.Which did you buy? I'm guess they sell all of it together so if your building one from scratch. All I would really need is the brace and tube , unless there's something different about the buffer and spring that comes with it.

Any carbine length buffer and spring will fit fine.

It will the pistol buffer that came in mine work ok in the shockwave?

No idea what you have, but there's no such thing as a "pistol buffer" in AR world, unless maybe you're dealing with one of the custom super shorty tube configs that a few places make.

Oh,ok.I guess mine would have a carbine buffer in it then,I hadn't took the buffer tube off to see.I just got the pistol lower yesterday, it's a PSA lower.

Thanks

You don't have to remove buffer tube to remove buffer and spring.

Btw, some folks report those PSA pistol tubes without a castle nut, if that's the kind you have, are really socked in there and maybe with red loctite or something. That means maybe a strap wrench and maybe even some heat. Or if you don't care about marring it up, maybe a pipe wrench.  If it's really a tough one, getting the lower anchored well enough will be important.

Oh, and since you seem new to all this, beware the takedown pin spring and detente when you remove it, they like to go "elsewhere".

I bought just the brace. I already had a pistol buffer tube, spring and buffer on it with a foam pad. I took the pad off and the shockwave fit perfectly. It fit tight enough that there's no wobble, and there's a set screw on the bottom to lock it in place. The tube was a cheap one... Anderson I think.

My tube is fluted, I didn't know if it would fit tight on it or not.It would be nice if it would, and I could tighten the set screw down to hold it.

I bought the shockwave from the same LGS where I had previously purchased the tube, so they already knew it would fit. If I was ordering it, I might get the tube with it also so you don't have to track one down later. I'm not sure how it will fit on a fluted tube.

I just put a caliper on my tube... 1.245"
