RIP Gregg Allman

All these musicians we grew up with are starting to drop off.  It does suck.  Last year was bad, but I guess it was just the beginning.  These guys are getting old.

RIP Greg.

Was just reading about his life. He lived hard and it wore on him.

Saw the band in Philly before Dickey Betts left and they were awesome!!!

Ive listened to the Allman Brothers Band almost daily for many many years and will continue to do so. Not much new music these days compares.

RIP Gregg!

I saw the Allman Brothers play in Knoxville back in the 90's. Still one of the best concerts I have ever seen. Sad when we lose such groundbreaking true musicians.

Wow! I hadn't heard this. I have a good friend I used to play music with in the funeral home now. This stuff makes one feel old!

If that was at the World's Fair site I was there.

Dang. I knew they decided to quit touring recently, but I didn't know his health was that poor. They'll never catch the midnight rider.

There was a rumor a little while back. Greg told everybody that it wasn't true. Guess he hoodwinked us. Another one of the greats gone.

The ABB was a great band and I still have many of their songs in my playlist. I also have the "I'm no Angel" CD and there's not a bad song on it. Hate to hear it. I drove through Savannah this morning.

Yep it was. The 45 minute rendition of Whipping Post was killer. Those guys lived to perform and it showed.

I first saw the band in 71. Listening to the ABB always made me feel like I was in church. By the end of the set I felt redeemed. I need to take some time to mourn.

I agree, buddy. Our favs and icons are leaving us. And worse...that means we are getting long in the tooth as well.

Think I'll go crank up Melissa.

So long Greg...you'll surely be missed at my house.
