Memphis Class III recommendations?

Recommended Posts

Hi y'all. I am starting to get a bad case of suppressor fever.

Has anyone had any class III work done in Memphis? Looking for anyone's opinion, good or bad, about local Class-III resources.

I heard RangeUSA is a dealer, but that's all I have heard.

You'd think that in Mogadishu on the Mississippi someone could get richer selling SBR's & such to the self-defense minded masses. Nearly 30,000 HCPs here in Shelby County!

Use to be a place in Memphis in 70's called Chickasaw Bluff Arms where I bought my first class3 weapon, but the way the market has been I'd bet their long gone. Believe the owners name was Larry Short.--MP

Brighton Arms in Brighton has some Class III stuff in stock and rents them to try out at their indoor range. Also go to Guns and Ammo on Summer ask for Larry Langston. He is their class III dealer. Once you decide what you want, and who you will order from, Larry can handle your transfer for you. Watch the for sale list on Subguns.com daily. You will get a idea of what stuff sells for. And buy from someone on their recomended dealers list. Several of the Brothers on AR-15.com in the Tennesse hometown forum also play with class III toys.

I know Joe at Hero Gear in Winchester TN is a class III dealer also if you are looking outside of the Memphis area. I dont know what he keeps in stock, but I am making a trip in a fey weeks.

And dont forget the read the buying guide at the top of this forum.

Ask Chance from Classic Arms (a member here) about the local Memphis C3 market.

I know he has done quite a bit of research into this.

I saw the beginnings of the next project. I might have to make a little trip up to see you soon and get a lot of the same.

Class III in Memphis = Not me/where I work. :(

Yet.

I recommend Joe/Hero Gear instantly if people don't mind a drive; honestly I haven't even inquired at the local places, including Range USA, and I'm there at least twice a month. I might have to ask a few questions now that I know I'm reasonably familiar with a local resource.

Of course, still heading to Joe's a few times a year, just to get out of Memphis, enjoy a nice drive, and drool all over his counter . . . And so far I'm 3 for 2 on starting forms every time I drive up! :D

Well, I do know for sure that I want to get a suppressor. Right now, I'm trying to do a bit more research, but it's good to know that when I decide to go that route, that there are some local options available.

Shipping my 870 receiver and barrel out tonight after work. :D

Had to keep putting it back together because everybody wanted to see what "that cool short stock" felt like . . . ummm, it's a YOUTH stock on a 12 gauge 870?

Hey Joe . . . :tough: Funny bastid, aren't ya? ;)

Larry Langston at G&A is your best bet in Mempho in my opinion, but he is a friend of ours so I guess I'm biased.

Scott Kilby at Range USA did my last two NFA purchases, and since it is a range, he allows me to shoot my machinegun and silencer whenever I want while I am waiting on the tax stamps. I highly recommend Range USA for NFA purchases.
