Classified ads- feedback

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Maybe I'm just slower than most guys out there but I'm struggling with the new classified ads.  It is challenging for me to view ads on Tapatalk and it just seems since the new rollout that not many questions pop up and things are moving slower.  Is it just me?  If anyone has tips on how to view the new ads on their phone or other tips/tricks, please pass them along.  I just posted a few things and while the posting was very easy, it is hard to follow and challenging to see if anyone is even viewing the ad.

By the way, I realize this is a perk to the site and I'm not complaining, just trying to figure this out.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I'll just take a wild guess what the problem is and say....Tapatalk. .

You might be onto something there.

I consider myself pretty computer literate and they don’t seem to make sense to me. It appears when you post you create two separate threads. I’m usually all for change and new stuff, but I don’t like any part of the new forum software. The last version before it went to the bar with all the “read status” and “ownership” was the best. Activity in the classifieds seems to me to have really dropped off, but maybe not. I just figure it will eventually move to the next version and this will be in the past.

Dave and I are in agreement on this. Read into that what you will.  I really don't like how the new classifieds dual thread thing works. It's cluttered, confusing, and wholly unnecessary.

Just an FYI on the double-post classifieds:  on one of the two there is a fairly accurate map of your location included.  Turn off those location services when posting ads fellas.

Thanks guys and glad I'm not alone!  I use a computer all day every day so I'm fairly handy with apps and other software but these classified ads have me scratching my head :)

It only shows the accurized version of the map to you, the person posting, as far as I have been able to tell.

+1. The new style of classifieds seems to make more confusion than it should. I like the style of the advert threads, but like "Chucktshoes" said, the whole dual thread thing is a mess.

No so sure about that.  I can see what appear to be very pinpointed maps on some ads.

I answered an ad a few months ago that was so accurate there was dot on the map at the exact location of the guys house.

Same here. I've seen it get pretty specific as well.

Took a few clicks to get a "bump" on my ads. I don't list many things so this is still trial and mostly error for me these days.

I'm a fan of everything the recent upgrades have brought...except the classifieds layout.

For my take, it's just not as much of a breeze to scroll through anymore, and I even wonder if anything I'm thinking of selling might get as much visibility as it would have before the changes.  Granted I've had some less time on the site now that I'm out of school and a working cog, but it just isn't as attractive an area for me to scroll through these days.  Going back to the old way would get my vote in a straw poll.

Well it seems computer literal and illiterate folks tend to agree on this. I just don't get why two posts are necessary for one ad. I mean I can get it all to work and all...just seems a little crazy. But then again I hate change so.....
