Wow that's an interesting query. I've never thought of carrying with overalls.

I'll have to ponder that one. Would be cool to have a holster BEHIND the bib.

I have found that "paddle" holsters work with overalls. They fit in the "V" where the front bib buttons to the back. Kydex models seem to hold best for me.

If you mean concealed, I believe I'd just stick that bad boy in one of them big ole overall pockets!

Maybe in a Nemesis holster.

T for Texas, T for Tennersee!

Different schools, different strokes, I guess.

We didn't even have to have a holster at all...matter of fact, we didn't even have to have our own handgun, could just rent one onsite if needed.

But I'm sure you will be double naught seven cool!!

Welcome to TGO, I believe a paddle holster might do the trick for your circumstance!

I'm 48, over 6'3", and around 300 lbs. I like the Smart Carry holster. I wear a lot of warm-up pants and shorts with elastic waistbands, and this holster allows me to carry completely concealed with easy access. My carry is a S&W M&P 9mm sub-compact, but they make them for even 1911's. I've worn this holster comfortably for up to 10 hours. The only drawback to it is having to move it to the side when I piss.

I always just put on my belt and holster under my overalls. Worked fine for me for years, you can slide it around and get it right where you want it. I always said I wish someone would make some tacti-cool overalls with holster, magpouch, flashlight pocket, etc. built right in.

Now that's an idea right there.... A white rope around your waist tied in a square knot in front, Jethro style!

Just thread the rope through the holster through like you would a belt...:screwy:

Seriously... An LCP in the front bib pocket would disappear!

I wear bib overalls from time to time (buy mine at TSC, better overalls for a better price!) As I normally carry a 642 or 640, I carry the 642 in a Nemesis pocket holster with my overalls. Actually overall straps allow me to carry the 640 the same way if I want to. All kinds of places to hide a little J-Frame in bib overalls!

I live in farm country , so bibs are pretty much common wear and allow "blending" or "herding" to avoid notice. Bib overalls, boots and a "Citizen's Bank" ball cap is the perfect "Grey Man" invisibility cloak!

When I was teaching down in Hendersonville (Beech HS) the principal used to call my bib overalls my "Macon County Tuxedo!"

I have been known to wear Pointer Brand bib overalls and I use a "belly band" style holster. It can be moved around, up or down to achieve access, comfort, and even some support for the back aches.

Terry, I'm a big ol boy too, and when I wear overalls, I carry exclusively in a smartcarry. Its perfect for that. The one I have is the perfect size as it holds my j-frame 442 and my XD40 subcompact. Seems I have faster access to them in a smartcarry than even a pocket.

They are very well made, Mr. Parrott is a very nice man, and you won't be sorry you got one.

By the way, I'm just a crow hop away from you in north Dickson, just off Hwy 48! Smack dab between Dickson and Charlotte!

Welcome!

I've never seen a SmartCarry, other than the Internet, but based on the pictures I've seen, it almost looks as if the gun would just flop around in the holster. Is there something that holds the gun firmly in place?

That manner of thinking was my hesitation to buying one originally. But no, with either my 442 or my XD subcompact, it buries into the pocket, covering the trigger guard, up to the grip. The pocket is actually quite tight at the mouth. It doesn't move a bit unless of course you turn it upside down. It is remarkably secure. The material itself that it's made of is also tacky and that adds to the security.

I love mine, and have every confidence in its construction and fit.
