I bet when all the smoke clears your going to find out he is a Vet but no guarantees on that. Just sounds like he was cool under fire and reacted accordingly. .......jmho

It's a good bet that man had some extensive training. Good for him in saving the lives of possibly everyone in the store.

From another site discussing this.

So, much for those that think fighting back or, drawing against the drop is futile. This guy fought back against multiple assailants, disarmed one and was able to shoot all of them. It just goes to show that even when facing a UN-winnable situation, you can still WIN.

It's all a matter of motivation. Those kids had no intention of killing anyone, they were hoping their show of force would scare folks into submission. Except some folks don't scare so easily and are mentally prepared to act quickly and decisively.  They were shocked and unprepared for anyone to fight back, and it cost them dearly.

And Pee you know these young thugs intentions how? If they shoot in my direction, I fear a challenge to my life and fight back with guns ablazing.

Is it clear that the deceased and injured parties were, actually, the three gunmen who originally opened fire?  The way the article was written, I honestly couldn't tell.  It almost sounded like the three gunmen killed one teen and injured two others before the witness wrestled a gun away from one of the gunmen, returned fire and all three gunmen fled (unharmed.)

EDIT: Okay, never mind.  I just read the second article linked in the OP and it is much more clear except it simply says that the defender 'armed himself' and makes no mention of him having wrestled a gun from one of the assailants.  The first article linked was not very clear as to whether or not the deceased/injured parties were assailants or bystanders, IMO.

If they'd wanted to kill people, they'd have shot first and then stepped over the bodies to get to the money.

No argument on fighting back. I'd do the same thing.
