Crimson Trace for S&W Shield 9mm

Has anyone used a Crimson Trace on a Shield 9mm and if so what did you think?

Does it mount well to the gun? Does it feel like it is part of the gun and not loose or move around?

Thanks

Mine came with it. Seems very integral to me. Definitely recommend the green if you get one. Note the green is slightly different when getting a holster.

I'm still at odds with it for carry vs home defense, but it functions great. Just a preference decision.

Why would you be at odds with it?

For home defense I like it not having an off switch.  But I mainly got mine for carry, and I prefer not to advertise it.  It is hard not to grasp without activating when holstering or anything.  I know, should be hands off, but getting out of a car and such...

That and it reduces the holsters available.  I have a couple now that work.  The green laser is very slightly different than the red, so specify if you order something specific.

I have the very similar Viridian, but it is the Instant on version.  It looks and feels solid.  The Dara holster was a little expensive, but I would never have the Shield without a laser, now.  I'm not crazy about having to disassemble the thing to replace the batteries, so if Crimson Trace batteries can be replaced with unit on the gun, you will be ahead of the game.
