Green River Gun Club IDPA Bug Match 4/22/17

Green River Gun Club is holding an IDPA BUG match this weekend.  

Round count is 45 rounds.

All stages are limited to 5 rounds and start at low ready.

Strong hand shooting, weak hand shooting, and accuracy will be required.

$15 match fee.

8am setup, 9:30am start

12 hardy men showed up to shoot in the rain and it didn't rain until we were done! 

Most of us were more than a little miffed that the BUG's we shot lat year would not fit in the new box! A lot of guys ended up having to shoot CCP!

I had to do emergency surgery to get my Ruger LCR to fit, Gerry's Glock 26 fit and Dan's J frame would not fit!

Yea, when the new 2017 rulebook came out even the S&W Shield didn't fit the BUG box.

Then.......

Version 2.0 was quickly released and the BUG box height grew 1/8 inch...., and just like that the Shield would slip right in.  Hmmmm, follow the money maybe? 

Heck, I'm still pissed that the 1911 Commander won't fit the CCP box.  First the barrel was too long at 4.25.  Then the new rule box stated that 4.25 was OK, but the height shrunk to an 1911 officer frame size. 

What is Joyce Wilson thinking, that a bankrupted Colt is going to buy more advertising from IDPA?

Stuff like this has me thinking about going back to shooting USPSA after a 20 year hiatus from that sport!
