We bought a 3D printer for the office a while ago. It is here basically as a toy for the employees to play with.

We we have made all sorts of things. Model of a 1911, a Darth Vader, light switches and all sorts of little brackets and tools.

Weell I came into the office Saturday morning and saw someone had figured out exactly what 3D printers are for....

We have a 3D printer too. We use it mostly for making demos of tooling to see if they'll work before we make them out of metal. We have make a few actual tools where the various plastics are suitable. Lots of cell phone holders for folks desks as well.

I got kinda bored with mine for a while, then I got hooked on lost PLA casting. Now I want to take more backyard casting classes. Nothing like printing and pouring some small intricate parts you couldn't make on the CNC. :)
