Approved for HCP. Waiting

Knew too this. So I was approved by the TBI this past Wednesday for my permit. Question is, if I'm approved and waiting on it in the mail, would I be in legal troubles if I conceal it on my person before receiving it in the mail?

I'll be working in one of the not best areas of Nashville starting Tuesday and want to have it with me for the "incase" of protection. But since I haven't received the permit in the mail yet, unless by then, I'm kind of 50/50 on doing so. But I was told the status of the HCP shows up on the police computers in their cars. 

So would it be a big deal since I was approved and waiting for it or should I just wait too conceal carry when it arrives? Just want too avoid legals.

It's my understanding that you're to have your permit on you at all times when carrying.  I'd be patient and wait til it comes in the mail.  I renewed mine last month and had a new permit in the mail 2 weeks later.

It won't be a problem until you're asked for a permit.  Is it worth the risk?

The mail might be slow but if stopped, the legal mess will be very slow.
