Do you know off hand where you can pick some up in Nashville?

Not many good ammo places in Nashville. As much as I hate to say it, Franklin Gun Shop (south of Nashville) probably has the best ammo selection I have seen around here. However, their prices are :screwy::screwy::screwy:. I have seen FMJ .32ACP at Wal-Mart in the past. You may check there.

If you can't locate it in any stores, I would order off of Ammunition To Go. They have FMJ and Silvertips listed on their site.

Here's a little bit of info on the .32 acp. It is susceptible to rimlock since the rim of the cartridge is slightly wider than the rest. This really only seems to be a problem in the shorter JHP rounds. I read a lot about it before I carried a .32 and found that carrying a JHP in the pipe and on the top of the mag gave me super reliable feeding. Aside from those two JHPs, the rest of the ammo I carried was FMJ. With this setup, I never had a FTAnything.

Reloaders Bench in Mt. Juliet has a nice selection of premium ammo for LOTS of different calibers. While I don't recall seeing .32acp, I have seen .30 Mauser, 7.62 tokarev, and many obscure calibers. I'll bet you a dollar and a quarter that they have a selection of .32 as well.

As ReservoirDog mentioned above www.ammunitiontogo.com

Go there, buy 500 rounds of the S&B 73gr FMJ, and you're done. I've found it to be reliable and low flash.

For .32ACP, stick with FMJ for practice and defense.

There is not a .32ACP JHP made that expands AND penetrates deep enough to be recommended for effective self defense (I don't recommend any .32ACP for defense, but I realize that it may be someone's only option).

FWIW, my general rule of thumb:

For calibers that can reliably expand AND penetrate approx 12" of calibrated gel...JHP.

For calibers that can reliably expand OR penetrate approx 12" of calibrated gel...FMJ.

We WANT expansion...we NEED penetration. You're going to have to make a choice with .32ACP because you are not going to get both.

Plus (as mentioned by Truthsayer) you get the added benefit of better feed reliability in small autos which sometimes can be more finicky than service-sized pistols.

I carry Winchester FMJ in my Kel-Tec, if you can find Fiochii FMJ ammo it works fine and is about half the price of WW, Rem etc.

Fiocchi is quality ammo. However, it is loaded hot and I have seen some .32 semiautos that malfunctioned because of this. I used to have a KelTec P-32 that functioned with everything but Fiocchi.

This is why I give the nod to S&B.
