If we were one of the "someones" that didn't get told, would it be acceptable procedure to assume this thread is an all inclusive "tell someone" thread, and all who read it may then proceed to final step of "oh snap" ?

Or is it an exclusive "if you have to ask, you'll never know".

Okay, I hit the net pretty regularly when I get home. I keep up with the news, watch some network TV like House and Fringe but mostly keep to the Discovery Channel.

Please explain the origin of "Oh Snap" for those of us who are not current with the terms genesis. I like the term, it fits quite a few situations we are all caught in daily.

You should watch an episode of My Name is Earl.

It was an urban colloquialism whose origin, if memory serves, loosely coincided with the physical act of snapping as a form of punctuation ca. 1990.

Wow, I apparently missed an entire generations terms on this one. If that came up in the 90s, it was probably overshadowed by "going postal" with the crowds I run with. (crowds = what, 4 or 5 folks! LOL)
