NRA Annual Meeting

I plan to go Friday morning and I'm staying a couple of blocks from the GWCC, so it shouldn't be too bad if I get down there around lunch time.

And if you are a dues paying member (usually $25-30/yr) you can even get a pass for a family member for free at check in........if not a member join!!!!! You also get a free magazine and free arms insurance.

Yep. Join the NRA and then sign up for free at https://prereg.nraam.org/

They'll mail your passes to you. You can also check-in at the door for free, but pre-registering is free and easy, so I have no plans to sign in at the door. Once you have your passes, you can simply enter and exit the exhibit hall and the free lectures as you please.

There are additional ticketed events for which you do have to pay. The NRA-ILA Leadership Forum is where you'll find the big-name guest speakers. Usually politicians, plus the NRA's Chris Cox and Wayne LaPierre. This year they'll also have Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke and Mark Geist, one of the survivors of Benghazi. there are other ticketed events  including a concert with Hank Williams, Jr. You can get info and tickets for any or all of them at https://www.nraam.org/

My wife and I have gone for the last 3 years. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Not much there to buy,but you get to check out all the gun related stuff from every manufacturer. Even if it's not on the shelves yet.

One day isn't nearly enough. We plan on being there 3 days. Go early, leave early, enjoy a running away from home weekend. The grass will still be there when you get back.

If anyone from the Clarksville/middle TN area wants to carpool I've pretty much made up my mind to go on Saturday.  PM me if you want to join me.

No because of location and traffic/crowds.

Nothing against Atlanta just too many folks crowded around there, I dislike crowds greatly.

Went to the last 2 and had fun but stayed away from most of the people.

I'll be there with Mike Dresner. We are bringing some of our machine guns, mainly belt feds for a red carpet entrance to the after party on Saturday for all the big named companies (vortex, eotech, etc). They will be taking pictures with our guns. Pretty excited to say the least.

Going down Thursday am for the foundation banquet Thursday night and staying through Saturday. It's too awesome to miss. I've been the last three years. Great deals on random 'gun stuff' and knives, holsters, parts, etc.
Pretty good swag too.

I pre-registered in February and still haven't received my passes. Getting a little worried!

It's normal. Mine always arrived the last week before the event. Even if they don't arrive before you leave for Atlanta, it's no big deal. Just register at the door.

I am skipping this one.  Access into and out of Atlanta is a nightmare under the best of conditions but the I-85 bridge collapse has succeeded in making it absolutely miserable per good friends who live there.

Dallas next year might actually be a thing for me, though.  I'm really just going to need to watch the industry over the next 8 months and see if it manages to crawl out of the current slump somehow.  Maybe the HPA will gain some traction between now and then.
