Xdm issue yesterday. Help needed.

Yesterday while shooting a classifier match I had a round not fire. The striker dropped so I assumed a light strike or a primer not seated. After picking up the cleared round there was no hit on the primer. I'm honestly not sure how that could have happened. Anyone had that happen before?

How many rounds through the gun and how long since a detail strip? The striker channel could be gummed up.

I'll check the striker channel . I believe I detailed it recently but honestly can't remember. Thanks.

Did you fire anything afterwards? Look it over when you do the detail strip, but it could have just been a bad primer. Either way, check it at a range before you take it out for a match or use it as your carry gun.

I did fire it with no issues afterwards for at least another 40 rounds. Everything looked good when I stripped it today as well.

My guess was going to be something in the striker channel, but since you've already detailed it, the only thing I can think of is a possible bad primer.

It's also possible on some guns for them to be ever so slightly out of battery and still let the striker fall. When this happens most of the energy is absorbed by the slide and the primer may never get touched.

I've seen this happen with reloads where the case flare wasn't fully removed, or were dirty.

Shoot it a bunch more and if it's reliable chalk it up to an anomaly. You may never know the exact cause. Stuff happens...

Well I'm not sure what it was. I cleaned everything even though it wasn't really dirty. I've also shot more rounds with no problems so who knows. Thanks for the advice.
