Tried my hand at making some "custom" 1911 grips . . . .

I was playing around in my garage, trying to create something unique for my 1911 collection. 

I had this idea.  This is how it turned out . . . . .  (photo heavy)

I'm not THAT skilled . . . . 

I started with a few sets of grips I already had.  Finding and embedding the coins in a non-destructive manner is my contribution . . .

Yeah, no . . . . there are just some things that even Curly won't do . . . . . .

But I am now set up to do nickels.  There may be a Buffalo nickel pair in the not too distant future.

Inserting the original unaltered coins in the grips looks good, it's something that you used to see from time to time in rifle stocks.
