Anyone have a love for Argentinian Sistema "Colts" . . . . ?

I was thinking on starting a "show and tell" thread on these and couldn't decide if it should be in the Handguns section or the C&R section.  Then I remembered this one.

I'll show you mine if you show us yours . . . . . .

I gave always admired those pistols; but have never, in person, seen an example in nice condition.  The most polite way to put it is that they were "well worn" (little or no metal finish, grips worn almost smooth, etc.).

So seeing some in good condition would be a treat.

There are actually a couple series of guns that are called "Sistema's."  The most notable are the DGFM-FMAP 1911's that were made in Argentina for the various branches of the military.  There were a little over 1.5 Million of these guns produced between 1945 and when production stopped in 1966.  Obviously, the earlier guns made in the 1945 to 1950 years will be more war worn and harder to find in good condition than those produced after 1950.

Then there are the Argentinian Colt contract Sistema's that were fully made here in the USA in Hartford, CT and sent to Argentina in small lots between the years of 1927 and 1933.  Colt made and shipped only 10,000 of those guns for the contract.  Those were manufactured between 1927 and 1928 exclusively, after which Colt engineer supervised the set up of Argentinian manufacturing, licensed the design, and trained Argentinian nationals to make them for themselves.

No one knows how many of these original 10,000 guns have survived to today.  Finding them in shootable condition, with all matching serial numbers, is a daunting task.

Here are a few photos of mine, a true 1927 manufacture, serial numbers matching, Hartford MFG Argentinian Contract Colt - #4,921 of 10,000

I have several and purchase whenever I get the chance. I also like the Policia version from Buenos Aires. Both super nice .45 pistols.
