So I was doing an image search for Damascus steel 1911's, saw something that piqued my interest, and I ended up joining.

Alrighty then, will do.  Still getting a feel for the "temperament" of this site.  I find they are all a little different.

There seems to be a 2.0MB limit for uploading files.  Is that per thread, or globally across the entire site?  Reason I ask is that I do like to share photos of interesting guns, but I don't like Photobucket or other cloud based storage.

I wonder if DropBox would be an option . . . . I use that pretty extensively for work.  I'll give it a test . . . .

Well there you go . . .  .

That's a beautiful Hardballer Longslide, I had a Backup .380 years ago but sold it. The little tang on the mag release drove me crazy constantly ejecting.

I've got a few unusual and interesting 1911's.  That would be my primary area of interest / passion right now.  I am more of a collector.

How many active members would you estimate frequent this site?

Welcome to the group, I'd say you are off to a good start offering gunporn on your first day.

Thanks.  Just trying to figure out the most appropriate place to post some of them.  I also need to get some of my content moved to my hosting location.  I'm used to sites that allow direct uploads of images.

Might have to wrap it up for the night.  I need to be up in five hours or so . . . .

Right now, I've got AMT quadruplets

  • Hardballer Longslide - 45 ACP - 6"
  • Hardballer Standard - 45 ACP - 5"
  • Commando commander sized - .40 S&W - 4.25" (this is a tough one to find, it's NOT the officer sized Skipper)
  • AutoMag III - .30 Caliber Carbine long slide - 7"

I have started using postimg.org.  It is an easy site to use and post pics from.  Upload your pick and copy the "Hotline for forums" link and paste it in your response.
