Veterans respond to Starbucks criticisms re: refugees

I don't drink coffee so Starbucks means nothing to me but a company's promise to hire veterans does.  After very little web searching it looks like Starbucks made a pledge in 2013 to hire 10,000 Veterans over the following five year period.  So coming within 1 year of their pledge time left and if they've kept to their promise they should be in he top 5 at least from Omegas  link http://bestforvets.militarytimes.com/best-employers-for-veterans/2016/ of which they obviously are not.  According to this article Starbucks claims they have hired over 8,000. 10,00 Refugees

Like I said, I don't drink coffee but I do like the smell and aromas of coffee. However, the promises of Starbucks to hire veterans and seeing the numbers smells really bad to me.

Perhaps Starbucks isn't meeting their quota, because there aren't enough veterans looking to make coffee for a living with a bunch of sissies.

No offense intended to those veterans who do like to make coffee, and work with a bunch of sissies.

What you say may be true but Starbucks claim they are meeting or ahead of their goal but their are no public numbers to confirm this.   EDIT: should have said the numbers that are available show they are nowhere near their goal.

If nothing else, every Starbucks I've been to has at least one hot barista :dirty:  And since I'm always getting Starbucks gift cards (from points built up on my Speedway rewards card), I'll keep going.  Can't say no to "free" coffee.
