I got a box of this for Christmas. Loaded my 1911 with it and it wouldn't feed worth squat. I noticed the bullet is slightly longer than a regular .45acp hollowpoint. Anyone ever use this and have the same problem?

I have some and it fed fine in my Sig GSR 1911. It was maybe a bit picky if I didn't let the slide take it all the way home, but it cycled while firing flawlessly.

I have used it in 1911's and SIG 220's. No problems noted.

I believe Taurus is using the Barnes XPB bullets. Thats some good stuff. I have no idea whose loading them for Taurus though.

If i remember right its a PMC casing. I always assume that they were loading them too, but I suppose they could just be manufacturing the casing.

That is what I carry in my SA TRP and it feeds flawlessly and all reports are excellent on it as well from an expansion standpoint.

I don't know if I like the idea of an all copper bullet or not in a handgun. I know alot of people swear by barnes in .284 and .338 for the rifle magnums.

In terms of that pt1911, mine fed most anything. You could try polishing the ramp a little or using a wilson combat magazine. The wilson cocks the front of the round up a little higher than some other mags. But I didn't care for it otherwise.

I have used them in my Kimber and they has fed great. It is also very accurate. I used it to take a doe at 15 yards.

I could be wrong... but you might check your feed ramp to see if the edge of it is blazing sharp. Had a 1911 one time that the bottom was so sharp it was actually gouging the head of the bullet and would jam. Rounded it off a touch and i didnt have that issue anymore. Just something to check..

I did recover the bullet. It went in a fairly steep angle about 4 " behind the front shoulder. The bullet punched thru a rib and opened up and created a rather large wound cavity. It squeezed between the bottom of the ribs on the other side and stopped just under the skin. I didn't have any way to weigh it but it looked like it was all there.

Here is the interesting part. The deer ran about 40 yards and died. I process my own deer. When I started skinning the deer, I found more blood than i have ever found. There was a tremendous amount of blood between the skin and ribs on both sides.

Pretty good performance in my opinion.

Yeah, that's pretty good. Pretty good shot too, imo. I'll have to buy a box or 2 and see what I think. I like a little more power than an acp, but, if the shot is in there where it should be, a good bullet should get it done.
