C&R Fever

Well, between re-watching Saving Private Ryan for the eleventy-billionth and spending the weekend playing Call of Duty: World at War, it's really hit me: I NEED a C&R license.

I NEED Mausers, Mosins, and Garands!

Not to mention, the savings from Midway... that's a major plus.

Haven't run across any yet.

On the Russian vs Germans battles, I've been sticking with the Mosin, and definitely rocking the PPSH for CQB.

On the US vs Japan battles, I've been mainly sticking w/ the M1, and occasionally the M1919.

It's a cool game, but definitely not as good as the EA made Call of Duty 4. The AI isn't as good, and the environments are no where near as good (too many "invisible boundaries").

Really? Its not made by the same people that made COD4? That sucks.

Nah, this one was made by Activision, EA made COD4... and did a damn good job with it.

Activision Publishs All of the COD games

Infinity Ward Developed it.

Treyarch Studios dev'd W@W and I think the COD2 add on. Either way the game is ok but not the best one. Inf Ward will be dev'ing CoD 6.

Wait, did I just make up the EA part, or are they kinda like a producer in this sense? You know, the ones with all the $$ who pay for Infinity Ward's talents?

EDIT: Perhaps I got confused from having played Bad Company lately. Which, aside from the destructible environments, isn't so great.

I bought it.. didnt like it at first. Then did like it for quite a while. I dont play it at present because I was logging in one day and alt-tabbed out of the game, when I brought the window up my account had corrupted and been reset to level 1 on multiplayer. The single player is fun though.

So would guys say world at war is worth buying or renting? Target has it on sale for $39.

I'd buy it. It's a good play, and besides that, if I rented it, I would most likely forget to return it for near the sum of $39.

My step-son is a big gamer. He loves DOD. The first time he'd ever been shooting (then aged 15), I took him out with a 98K, his favorite weapon in the game. After shooting it, his response was "it's not as accurate or easy to use". :)

I found some historical inconsistencies in the game as well. Such as, the SVT40 is completely inferior to the German Gewehr 43 in the game, where as everything I have ever read about these 2 rifles points to exactly the opposite in real life. I always heard the SVT40 was a highly prized capture for German troops.

I dont notice a difference in the two.

The M1A I love in single player but dont care for in Multi.

Seemed to me I got better results of picking off the enemy at distance w/ the Gewehr, but maybe that was just me.

Gotta say I loved rocking the Ppsh out for CQB, definitely my favorite SMG in the game.
