Lost a great friend today

Sorry about your loss. It's never easy losing a great pet like this one. Watching over the kids was a real plus that you can really appreciate. My dad used to tell about the next door neighbors dog that would keep the neighborhood kids separated from the creek out back by staying in between. The father next door said there was no amount of money that could ever have bought that dog.

14 years is a good life for a dog but I realize it's also not nearly long enough. Our oldest dog is 7 and I don't even like to think about what will eventually happen. So sorry for you loss.

I can sympathize with you. We have a Black Lab, and he's a "dog of a lifetime". He's every bit as much a part of the family as the kids. He's beginning to show signs of advanced age.

My sister in law had a Black Lab named Daisy, oddly enough, and it passed several years ago. She still tears up every time she sees ours.

It's hard to describe how attached you can get to them. I've had many different breeds of dogs, but the Labs are special.

Hate to hear it, loosing someone who always loves you in return is a hard pill to swallow.

We lost Gus a few months back and our lives will never be the same without that big brute running around.
