No longer pink; I liked the way the dye job turned out, I'm going to re-sand and subject to another dying. 

I also like how well the 7 round mag fits the frame at the mag well.

Hopefully I will test it tomorrow

Not too bad, looks like it took some "grain", a little darker on the high spots.  The dye is said to penetrate a bit so I would only rough it up a bit, if any, as too much sanding may distort the contours.  So is mauve the color you used or is it what pink and what color you used turned into?

The grips were pink, simmered in black dye for 1.5 hours.

Yup, I agree,  makes the guns finish stand out.
