Sears, Are You Buying Anything from them?

I was working for Sears at their West Town Mall, Knoxville location back in 2000 when they announced at the morning meeting that they were buying Kmart. All the employees thought it was a bad joke. Shortly after, Sears started selling a whole new line of "price friendly" tools. They were the same junk Kmart carried with a different package or label. It's been a downhill slide ever since. Kmart is having a ton of clearance sales in most of their stores & will shortly file bankruptcy & Sears may not be far behind.

Sad to see but they have been barely hanging on for some time now.

It's been several years since the downtown Nashville store on Lafayette turned into the Rescue Mission and recently I noticed the old auto store was being demolished.

Fond memories of shopping with my parents in both stores and still remember their Christmas decorations. That was THE place to visit Santa.
