So what did everyone do on New Years Eve?

I hung out with my 23 year old nephew and his pals at a cabin near Gatlinburg, then went into town for them for the ball drop and fireworks. It was a lot of fun. I have been meeting up with them for the last few years on New Years Eve.

Makes me feel old. No way I can keep up with them kids anymore. I tried like heck though.

I reminded myself why I don't go to bars anymore. I got drug to some bar/club in Sevierville at about 2:30 in the morning. I did not feel comfortable there at all. I was glad it was only one beer then go. There were a lot of drunken hotties in there though. At least I am not so old I did not realize why these guys liked the place.

It has taken a whole day of naps to catch up from it all, LOL

My Fiancee and I also spent New Years Eve in Gatlinburg. We had dinner in Pigeon Forge then back to the hotel. We started downtown around midnight but changed our minds about half way there and headed back. Spent the rest of the night downloading songs on itunes

We had a few friends over & got hammered. Everyone had a safe place to sleep & no need to drive home.

I drank most of a $3.99 bottle of Crane Lake Merlot at home with the wife and the kids, the older 3 stayed up, we watched a fireworks display from the back deck, and played a bunch of Wii. Great night.

Spent the evening with a bunch of old friends here at our house. Drank, munched, drank, made a big fire in the fire pit outside, drank, shot off $100 worth of fireworks, drank a little more and crashed around 2:30. Had a great time with great company.

Then things went down hill, the wife got me modivated New Years day around noon and we took down all of the Christmas Decorations, packed them up and put them away. Good news is I worked off any hangover I may have had.

I'm going to Stones River tomorrow with a friend who just got a new AR, makes it all worth while!:D

I went to bed around 12:30. I think I was drinking Sprite and eating Taco Bell. Watched the ball drop, now I'm waiting for Obama, PBUH, to drop the ball.

I played a gig outside and contracted what feels like the Ebola virus.

Wife and I watched the new york feed and then went to bed. Woke up about 1:30 to a bunch of flashing lights outside of the house. Two kids were driving too fast and flipped their jeep. Both of them walked away uninjured.

Was asleep, sick, in my bed.

Been sick since Tuesday. Nasty stuff. Combo, head cold, burning throat, upper respiratory mucus factory, sinus infection, migraine... beast.

Still not over it.

I hate it.

Canynracer, deerslayer, and db99wj,

It must be a Memphis suburbs thing. The wife and I hung out with the neighbors and kids long enough to do some fireworks and then hit the sack. Man am I getting old!

Took the wife to Range USA the next day to practice for her HCP class. Check this post out for the "range report" and how I may be in the market for something new!

The wife and I enjoyed an absolutely wonderful 7 year old bottle of Gundlach Bundschu cabernet and a bar of really good dark chocolate. The wife fell asleep on the couch about 10:45  . t that point the last thing I remember was the local news coming on. The next thing I remember, I awoke in the recliner about 2:30. I woke up the wife and said "well honey, we missed another one. Don't you think we'd be a little more comfortable in the bed?"

Yup. Just another typical welcoming of the new year at the Phantom's Lair. :D

Yep, sorry for your loss!!! Well at least you get to buy a new one and have twin XD's!

I have no desire, no inclination, no anything whatsoever to go out in Memphis or anywhere else on New Years. I hate crowds.

I wouldn't mind going over someones house to a smaller party, but at this point, with 4 kids under the age of 10, I can't afford a babysitter, and we really can't go out to late with them, so it is easier to just stay at home. Besides, did I mention I will not go out on New Years in Memphis!!

Took the wife out to The Brasserie in Knoxville, which is a real nice place to eat by the way, went home, popped a bottle of bubbly and watched the ball drop.

Ate dinner and had 25 double jiggers of patron tequila
