My kids and I met him and Mrs. Claus on a starbucks run one day a year or so back. Super nice people. I can't even begin to imagine that hospital visit.

Yeah, I read that story yesterday and thought about how upsetting an experience it would have been. As much as I like little kids seeing one hurt or sick is very difficult for me. I'm really grateful that there are still people who'll do this kind of volunteer work for children.

The only upside, if it can be considered that, to playing a stormtrooper for the kids at the hospital is the kids can't see when you tear up inside the helmet.

I'm the biggest pansy ever.  I've seen that story all over FB, etc, and I can't even bear to read it.  I get the gist of it, and that's already too much.  Prayers for his family.

and people doubt Jesus Christ .......  but they are quick to believe 'hands up don't shoot'.  I know from personal and professional experience this story happens daily, just that the nurse, family member, etc., isn't dressed as Santa

I think this is one of those moments when folks need to just pause for a minute and realize that there are many wonderful people in the world that do go out of their way to help others. I for one still believe in Santa Claus.

I will never stop believing in him.  Just like I will never stop believing in Jesus Christ. They are both in our hearts and minds to comfort us in a time of need.  I think that was the goal when Santa came along centuries ago and Jesus was born to be the ultimate comforter for mankind. That is why I do my best to Keep Christ in Christmas every year and I think that is why Santa Claus comes baring gifts for all the little boys and girls. So they will learn about the reason for the season. Problem is many parents have moved away from telling their children the reason for the Christmas Season.

The problem these days is most of the retail world has put the focus on the all mighty dollar and Polictical Correctness that they have lost their way and so have many people.

Back when I was little boy and they began showing new toys on TV for Christmas you saw toys. Now for every toy commercial you see, it will be followed up by 3  Jewelry Stores selling diamonds and  car companys selling cars with big deals for Christmas.

I never saw Santa Claus Park a new Mercedes under anyones Christmas tree when I was a kid!!!!!!!............................JMHO

I honestly don't know what the real truth is after all the casting of doubt I've seen on the web.

I do believe that as long as that man put on some of his Santa costume and went to comfort that little boy in such a moment to alleviate his worries over missing Xmas, that the rest seems trivial by comparison.

Bersaguy:  And weird commercials for perfumes !   I can always tell when it will be a perfume ad--I can't understand any of the scenes nor the voiceover

I think one of the main commercials that grips me is the Lexus car commercial where the guy is taking his daughter, wife and Christmas Tree out to plant it. Even though it is a great gesture to replant the tree but the guy has only a shovel, there is at least 4 inches of snow covering the ground and the guy dug a hole in that frozen ground big enough to get the ball on the bottom of that tree down to ground level.

I tried that once back about 30 years ago and there was no snow on the ground, just frozen. After about 2 hours I gave up and went to a buddy of mine and planted the tree on his farm and he dug the hole with a backhoe........

And somewhat related here...I've never really understood why we celebrate a birth(of Jesus Christ) by killing a tree.

Yes, I can see some of the symbolism of sacrifice involved here; but it just always seemed wrong to me.

And yes, I do use an artificial tree every year. So I guess that has a bit of Freudian symbolism as well. lol

Oh well...back to the commercialism of Christmas.

And a Merry Christmas to you all!
