This is an interesting course. Its "big brother" (Personal Protection Outside the Home) is even more interesting, and both have been well-received in the NRA Training Counselor community. Both courses cover legal and tactical issues and include much more "training" than an entry-level NRA course, and offer a more "real-life" approach to training.

We'll be offering the two-course sequence (take one or both, 22 hours total) next month in middle TN, and will post the info when I have it. I'll be taking the course as a student, not teaching it.

I've heard some good things about this course.

I'd love to do both courses mostly to do a critique. (But not enough to pay for them. :D) I keep hearing good things about how these are real-world classes rather than Rambozo stuff. This is probably what 95% of defensive shooters need.

I've read the course manuals for both and have seen the lesson plans. This is a situation where the quality of the instructor is going to make a huge difference. (As it so often does.) I'm taking both classes next month from a man I respect. We shall see. I'm no expert, but I think I can differentiate stuff that might actually happen in the real world vs the crazy stuff. I'll post a critique after the courses.
